Artist and Inventor
The bookstand has been invented and designed by Swiss artist Inigo Gheyselinck. When asked to create a sculptural bookstand for his artist friend’s XXL book, something else attracted his attention: the binding of the exquisite book ripped due to it’s own weight.
The required mechanism to relieve the book from the stress on the spine was quickly conceived, however figuring out the aesthetic and practical solution to meet today’s requirements for outstanding industrial design took him on a long journey.
